Being an Indian myself who was brought up with eating homemade curries brings back good memories of mouth watering delicacies with fresh spices, herbs and different fragrances.
The word curry is actually derived from the word kadhi which is a traditional North Indian dish, made out of yogurt, gram flour and fresh spices that is cooked on a slow heat for hours to produce a dish that is a rare delight. However, the word curry powder in the west was developed by the British to bring back the taste of India and the word curry is now being perceived in the west as a sauce of any kind.
